Interested in having a GIS map printed? Fill out this form and include a detailed description of the map you are looking for, along with the size of the map you would like. Under normal circumstances we will have a map created for you within 2 business days. Once the map is completed you will be notified by email and the map will be delivered to the Room 1212 of the Coleman A Young Municipal Center (2 Woodward Ave, Detroit, MI, 48226).

Please note that all maps delivered via email are created for free!  In addition, we do not charge a fee for printing maps that are 8"x11.5".

  • How do I pay for a map?
    To pay for a map you will need to obtain a money order (the snack shop in the lobby of the Coleman A Young Municipal Center, located at 2 Woodward Ave, Detroit, MI, sells them for $1) that is made out to: Treasurer, City of Detroit
  • Where and when do I pick up my map?
    Your map will be available for pickup when notified by email by our GIS Service Center Staff.
  • How can I get a free map?
    We create maps for free if they are delivered electronically (in other words, by email) and print maps for free if they are 8.5" X 11". You can request electronic delivery of a map by filling out the map request form and selecting “electronic delivery” under the size of print.
  • Can I download the data?
    City of Detroit has dozens of data sets available for download at data.detroitmi.gov.
  • What hours is GIS Services open for business?
    We are open Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, excluding City of Detroit holidays.

Under normal circumstances your map should be ready within 2 business days. However, while GIS Service Center Staff will make every effort to create your map within this time frame, occasionally circumstances beyond our control may result in delays. In the event of a delay, we will contact you regarding when you should expect your map to be available.
